Street Culture, Art, Clubs & Fashion 1980s to Now by Mark Wigan. published by Mark Wigan Editions 2022. An A4 Landscape format limited edition book packed with intimate polaroid portraits of clubbers from around the world and Wigans murals, graphics and streetwear designs from the 1980s to now.

Wigan painted clubs and venues in the early to mid 80s and was even commissioned to paint a club in New York (Limelight) by an impressed Andy Warhol. He also worked for NME and i-d magazine and is widely regarded as the man who transcribed the underbelly
of club life from that period onto canvas and walls. This heritage plus the fact he is still creating unique art some 30 years later has seen him acknowledged by London Weekend Television as Britains foremost Pop Artist. Martin Roach, Dr Martens A History of Rebellious Self Expression 2015

Mark Wigan not only started documenting what people were wearing and saying in an original way through his reportage drawings for magazines such as i-D magazine , NME ,Time Out and City Limits, he also co-founded the Brain Club, which was Londons first club to actively connect fashion with art, design, media and music by providing a space for like -minded people to meet and create in. King ADZ -This is not Fashion Thames & Hudson 2018

He moved to painting clubs in London and New York-where Andy Warhol and Keith Haring were fans. Wigan has since produced five books on Illustration for Bloomsbury, lectured at art colleges and in 2010 founded The Museum of Club Culture. Wigan now works full time on a series of intricately detailed illustrations of classic nights he calls The Clubland Chronicles. His prolific work ethic has seen him create art, music graphics, textile and merchandise design, licensing projects, TV commercials, art direction, set design, illustration, live painting, journalism, lecturing, photography, animation, video and editorial graphic design.
